What is PrEP?

PrEP stands for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis and is a new HIV prevention approach where HIV-negative individuals use anti-HIV drugs daily to reduce their chances of getting infected.

What is #BePrEPd?

#BePrEPd™ is a new program that provides patients with 90 day supplies of their PrEP therapy, delivered directly to them in packaging designed to protect privacy. The delivery comes discretely labelled in double-boxed packaging, sealed with tamper tape to avoid accidental opening. And delivery is free.

Who is eligible for #BePrEPd™?

#BePrEPd™ is for Residents of Ontario, with a prescription for PrEP and valid medication insurance or ODB coverage. Residents of Ontario under 25 years of age (with a valid OHIP number) can receive it free of charge with OHIP+ coverage.

With #BePrEPd service you can get your PrEP prescriptions delivered directly to you from a discrete Toronto based pharmacy experienced in HIV.

Your medications are double boxed

  • The outside box contains the name and delivery address you provide and our return address only (no pharmacy name appears).

  • The inside box is sealed with tamper proof tape and has only your name on the outside.

  • Your medication and any paperwork, receipts, etc, are inside the inner box.

Is PrEP right for you?

If you answer YES to any of the questions below, you should discuss with your healthcare provider whether PrEP is right for you

  • Have you been the receptive partner for condomless anal or vaginal sex with a high risk 
    person(s) whose HIV status is unknown?

  • Is your main sexual partner HIV +ve with a transmissable viral load?

  • Have you recently been treated for infectious syphilis or any other non-oral bacterial STI 
    like chlamydia or gonorrhea?

  • Have you accessed HIV non-occupational postexposure prophylaxis (nPEP) more than once?

  • Do you use alcohol/ “party drugs” on a regular basis?

  • Do you or your partner(s) exchange condomless sex for money, drugs, or alcohol?
